Bury St Edmunds: Who was Clare Castle?

Posted on 18 February 20202 April 2021 by Rob Ainsley

Splendid day researching cycle routes with Nigel in friendly Suffolk. Definitely not Home Counties here. Everyone smiles and says hello to you.

Clare Castle. Sounds like sort of HR person who wrote to me throughout 2000s with letter beginning ‘Dear Mr Ainsley. We so much enjoyed seeing you at interview last week. Unfortunately…’. Of course it isn’t. It’s actually a castle, in Clare.
Typical view throughout day. Especially of Nigel in the distance, about to wait patiently for me.
Rare view of Lavenham’s historic houses not being obscured by parked cars.
