Just finished three excellent days of researching routes in West Wales around Dolgellau.

Final fabulous day of research in the northern Lakes.

Cycled to Skiddaw House, an extremely isolated hostel halfway up Skiddaw. Superb views from the top. No wifi, mobile signal or electricity… but there was a piano and guitar, and a wine list ranging from Viognier to Shiraz, so entertainment was not a problem.

Glorious day cycling in classic autumn Lakes weather.. Super views at every turn. Such as the real ale line-up in Keswick’s recently opened Wetherspoon (not illustrated).

Route research in Blackpool, here to for the annual car-free switch-on ride. They close the promenade road to traffic but encourage locals and visitors to explore the seafront by bike. And people do. Quite a lot of them…
