Posted on 26 April 20172 April 2021 by Rob Ainsley

Rochdale Canal has fabulous scenery, and you’ll keep stopping to admire the views and take pictures. And search for the fillings that have been shaken out by the bumpy towpath.

Cragg Vale, from the moorland top at Blackstone Edge in Lancashire down to Mytholmroyd in Yorkshire, is England’s longest continuous downhill. I freewheeled for 9km and half an hour. Though most people would say I’ve been freewheeling for 35 years.
