Rutland 2: Border ride

Posted on 26 June 20182 April 2021 by Rob Ainsley

More route research in Rutland, this time a complete 65-mile circuit of the traditional county’s border.

Congestion outside Belton
Barrowden pond. On a blisteringly hot day, skinny dipping was a distinct temptation.
Harringworth (aka Welland aka Seaton) Viaduct, at 1.2km one of England’s longest. In fact, it’s so long, it almost hangs out of Rutland at both ends.
Blimey. I had no idea Leicestershire was so dangerous. I was only cycling to Melton Mowbray for a pork pie.
