Greenwich 1: About time

Posted on 23 July 20192 April 2021 by Rob Ainsley

More route research, this time in Greenwich. Well, it was about time. Fabulous day, riding south to the Kent AONB round Sevenoaks and back.

An accommodation disaster meant I was stranded at 10pm with nowhere to stay. Fortunately I was rescued by St Gary of Deptford and St Evija of Gulbene.

Trinity College. It’s a myth that Londoners are ‘unfriendly’. This chap came up to me and chatted to me as if he’d known me all his life. Without drawing breath to let me get away. When I was already late meeting someone.

Yes, it was hot. Very hot. The water in my water bottles was warm, which didn’t refresh well. Sadly, this sign was lying.

Eynsford’s ford. It’s a myth that Londoners are ‘unfriendly’. Several of the blokes came up to me and chatted to me as if they’d known me all their lives. Mainly slagging off cyclists.
