Greenwich 2: East meets West

Posted on 24 July 20192 April 2021 by Rob Ainsley

More very hot route research round Greenwich in the midst of a record-breaking heatwave. Almost a cyclist-breaking one, too.

Danson Park, round Bexley way. Just by the ha-ha here, a plaque marks the most remote point in South London from a fried chicken shop: just over 243m.

The splendid city-of-the-future view west from Shooter’s Hill towards central London. From here it’s a 20mph freewheel all the way to Blackheath, which means you’re going faster than all central London traffic.

Looking down towards Greenwich and central London from the observatory just by the meridian line. After all that cycling in Thamesmead, Erith, Dartford and Bexley, it was nice to be back in the west.
