Dundee 1: Scone in Scone, and bad poets

Posted on 15 March 20192 April 2021 by Rob Ainsley

More cycle route research, this time in Dundee, home of marmalade, Desperate Dan and bad poetry.

Scone at Scone. Better than the Cheddar I had in Cheddar, the Sandwich I had in Sandwich, or the York Ham I had in Ham.
The hills outside Perth, made famous by Sir Walter Scott in his novel ‘Inadequate signposting on National Cycle Route 77’.
The McGonagall Walk by the Tay Bridge, commemorating the worst poet ever’s worst poem ever. (The mis-spelling ‘beatiful’ is apparently intentional.) He was comically incompetent and deluded, but in those days people like that couldn’t be Prime Minister.
The V&A in Dundee, modelled after a wonky pile of cardboard. Or perhaps a stylised ship.
