Whitby 2: Cake, but no fryup in Fryup

Posted on 10 March 20182 April 2021 by Rob Ainsley

Another lovely day cycling the North York Moors on route research. Arguably the best place to cycle tour in Yorkshire, therefore arguably the best place to cycle tour in the world. But let’s not argue.

Lots of fords on today’s route. This was one of the trickier ones.
Solitude on Egton High Moor. Bit icy, so didn’t risk the 25 per cent downhill. Didn’t want solitude ruined by intervention of paramedics.
Glorious downhill to Lealholm. As usual in NY Moors, followed by uphill.
Grosmont’s welcome sign. Possibly made from debris of bikes that didn’t quite make the 1 in 3 descent into the village from the east.
Coffee and cake at Yorkshire Cycle Hub, Fryup Dale. Didn’t have fryup.
