Kirkby Stephen 2: Furlong scheme

Posted on 3 October 20202 April 2021 by Rob Ainsley

More cycle route research in the lanes and hills round Kirkby Stephen.

Drive time in Appleby.
Ravenstonedale Moor. Pity the posties in winter.
The old ways live on in KS, with this signpost in furlongs. They must have a lot of utility horse riders.
Dufton’s locals are used to working from home. It was just like One Man and His Dog. Actually it was a man, a woman and two dogs.
The rather fab B road from KS to Hawes. It looks flat on the map. Ha ha. Ha ha ha ha ha. Ha.
