Inverness 2: Tomatin sauce

Posted on 23 August 20202 April 2021 by Rob Ainsley

Another fab day of cycle route research from Inverness, looping down to Tomatin and back over the moor (you say Tomartin, I say Tomaytin, let’s call the whole thing off).

Culloden Moor’s memorial to the battle of 1746, aka indyref zero.
Those supposedly empty back roads, such as the old A9, could be quite busy at times.
Clava Cairns: remarkable prehistoric burial chambers, each with a mini-Stonehenge, entrances aligned to the solstice sunset. I bet people got fed up of signs saying ‘Only 119 hunting and gathering days to solstice’.
The thrilling moors road from Garbole to Farr…
…Almost as good as the North York Moors. Yes, that good.
