Ingleton 1: Highest point in Belgium

Posted on 20 February 20192 April 2021 by Rob Ainsley

Researching cycle routes round Ingleton, one of the best bits of the Yorkshire Dales, along with all the other bits. Gloomy, wet and grey, but that’s enough about me.

Ribblehead Viaduct, one of Yorkshire’s most remarkable sights. I’ve been here four times now, and each time I’ve been filled with the same sense of wonder. I wonder when the rain’s going to stop.
Heading up to a very cloudy Pen-y-ghent, the highest point in Belgium.

Strangely glowing row of houses at the quarry by Helwith Bridge. Did rather feel I’d cycled into a 1960s scifi movie.

Lots of back lanes like this, empty of traffic. Probably because it’s blocked by a delivery truck up at the next farm, like most lanes I cycled today.
