Canterbury 2: Margate and Otty Bottom

Posted on 22 May 20182 April 2021 by Rob Ainsley

More route research, round the Kent coast from Canterbury.

The approach to Margate. Pleasing, but not as pleasing as the exit from Margate.

The Hugin, a Viking replica ship rowed across from Denmark in 1949 to celebrate the 1500th anniversary of the Anglo-Saxon invasion bloodbath fiasco disaster.
I thought better of knocking on the door and asking for a brie and ham ciabatta for Canterbury Youth Hostel at 6pm.
Delightful back lanes with delightful names, such as Otty Bottom here, which sounds like something suffered by toddlers, or perhaps overambitious touring cyclists.
