Brighton 1: Devil’s Dyke, Ditchling Beacon

Posted on 21 March 20182 April 2021 by Rob Ainsley

I’m in Brighton for a few days researching cycle routes here and round the Downs.

Frosty morning up on Devil’s Dyke. How come faces on toast are always Jesus, but Satan gets credit for unusual geology?
Shepherd and Dog at Fulking. Pub not open when I arrived. But I can hardly cycle slower than I already do.

View from top of Bitchling Deacon, famous hill climb approach to Brighton. Glorious downhill to city. Easy to find YHA, my home this week: last building before beach.
