Switzerland End to End

Chancy to Martina 378 miles

In June 2024 I cycled the Switzerland End to End with my regular cycling colleague Nigel.

Below you can read daily blog posts for the trip, from Chancy near Geneva in the west, on the French border on Day 1, to the eastern tip of the country at Martina on Day 9. Day 4 was a loop, and Day 6 a rest day.

The total End to End distance was 378 miles, taking up six sixty-odd mile days, and including four major passes: Grimsel and Furka on Day 5, Oberalp on Day 7, and Albula on Day 8. The loop on Day 4 also went over Scheidegg.

I rode my new Spa Cycles (disc) Tourer; Nigel was on his carbon Trek Domane.

You can see Nigel’s detailed map of the route, overall and day by day, at CTC Cambridge Route Collection: Switzerland.

Day 1: (Chancy to) Geneva to Lausanne
Day 2: Lausanne to Fribourg
Day 3: Fribourg to Interlaken
(Day 4: Interlaken – Scheidegg – Interlaken)
Day 5: Interlaken to Hospental
Day 7: Hospental to Chur
Day 8: Chur to Susch
Day 9: Susch to Martina
