Edinburgh: Giraffes, mythic dogs and pizzas

Posted on 20 August 20202 April 2021 by Rob Ainsley

I’m en route to Inverness for some route research at last, after months stuck at home, and stopped off in Edinburgh for an investigative cycle round.

Giraffes craning their necks to see how far the new segregated cycle path from Waverley Station to Leith goes. Not very, actually.
Civerino Slice, an excellent pizza place just north of the lovely Meadows, have a Fausto Coppi bike in the shop window and a robust attitude to antisocial parking
‘Greyfriars Blobby’, the faithful dog of myth, was in fact probably several opportunist mutts getting fed by gullible graveyard-botherers.
Those lovely Meadows. Buzzing with picnicking students this sunny day. They’re lovely.
