Speyside 1: Takes a lot of bottle

Excellent first day of route research on the Speyside Trail up in the Scottish Highlands.

The shale track from Aviemore. Heather was alongside me for several hours. I gave her the slip at Nethy Bridge, though.
Had hoped to spot some red squirrels, but no luck. Didn’t even see any wild haggis.
The picnic lunch might have gone better if I’d remembered to bring some food
Progress on the grassy riverside track. Was. Very. Slow.
The climb to Tomintoul. Pronounced ‘Tom in towel’. Not my fantasy, but if yours, enjoy.
A candidate for the biggest bottle of whisky in the world: 105.3 litres, in Tomintoul. More like my sort of fantasy.
