Petersfield 3: Cricket, sharks

Posted on 10 January 20202 April 2021 by Rob Ainsley

Final day investigating cycle routes in Hampshire. We visited the historic home of cricket, Broadhalfpenny Down, which excited me very much. Sorry for mentioning religion.

Jumping the shark at Wheely Down. An Artist Blacksmith, that Hampshire trope.
Hambledon Down, where first-class cricket began on 24 June 1772. Some people may wonder if anything interesting has happened yet.
The sort of view we had all day. Lovely descent down to the Meons, which we thought might be Doctor Who villains, but were actually villages.
